HD-flexo benefits
Three wins HD-flexo delivers.
Print quality
- Solid ink transfer with greater density and more smoothness.
- Ability to reach the target solid-ink density with a reduced-volume anilox and a higher screen ruling, for dot-gain control and the formation of finer dots in the highlight areas.
- Elimination of the transitions between dots and of tonal jumps.
- Reduction or elimination of “halo” effects, typical in flexography, in solid areas.
- Reduction or elimination of “edge bleed” or “void” effects.
Cost reduction
- Lower ink costs
- Greater efficiency in ink collection and transfer, from a low-volume anilox.
- Option to use less pigmented, low-cost ink while still reaching the intended quality and densities.
- Lower printing costs
- Greater ability to run hybrid plates (with tones and solids).
- The wider tonal range (and thus colour scale) makes a fixed-colour palette more viable, saving set-up (make-ready) time.
Faster replacement
- Higher-productivity plate engraving.
- No additional steps in the RIP phase, or any need to make prepress decisions.
- Smaller engraving files, faster to process and transfer.
